How it started

Changing a brand’s identity during a period of growth is never easy, but what if that change could unlock even greater potential? This was the challenge CORACAO faced.

Founded in 2008 by Daniel Korson during the recession, CORACAO debuted its delicious, feel-good chocolates in Whole Foods’ bakery departments in Northern California. With a focus on crafting chocolates that satisfy cravings without compromising a health-conscious lifestyle, the brand quickly earned a loyal following. In 2023, through Beyond Brands Daniel approached us with one big question: With success already on the horizon, How to create a more cohesive brand identity to honor their history, the inspiration of their chocolates and the soul of their company.

Goal

The objective was clear: create a refreshed branding that would not only resonate with existing loyal customers but also attract new ones, fueling further expansion.

In a competitive market where new players emerge daily, we needed a design that stood out while emphasizing CORACAO’s commitment to high-quality, sustainably sourced ingredients that nourish both people and the planet. The challenge was to create something that broke the mold, setting the brand apart.

Result

We developed a fresh brand identity that aligned perfectly with the brand’s values of sustainability, quality, and health-consciousness.

This new identity was applied across the product portfolio, guided by a distinctive art direction. The result? CORACAO’s continued growth, proving that even when things are going well, there’s always room for improvement. The refreshed branding reinforced the brand’s core values and expanded its reach to new customers, setting the stage for even greater success.
